Requested Post: “No Makeup” Look If You Have Freckles

Hello my lovelies,
I was asked by a fellow blogger, Style by Stef as to how you would create the “No Makeup” look if you have freckles on your face that you do not want to cover! Stephanie is a Mom, so she was also curious as to what products she should use at a decent cost and if it was if an easy look to accomplish if you are tight for time and want to cover up the after math of many sleepless nights.

IMG_7903I’m here to tell all those busy Mom’s out there this look is the perfect look for you, even those with freckles. What a lot of people do not realize is it’s actually concealer that generally covers your freckles, your foundation shouldn’t be covering your freckles and if it is please go buy a new foundation because the one you are using is way to thick. Foundation should be used to establish an even skin tone and basic coverage. Concealer is for the tricky areas, like blemishes, redness and those that DO want to cover their freckles.

Suggested Foundations: Face & Body Foundation by MAC, Makeup Forever HD Foundation, Smashbox Foundation, Bobbi Brown Foundation (note: if you still find your foundation too thick, mix in your hand with your daily moisturizer and it will thin your product out)

Slide1If you generally don’t like the feel of foundation and still find that it’s too thick your best bet is to buy a tinted moisturizer. It will give you an even complexion without covering your freckles and without feeling the caked on makeup feel. My suggestions for those are: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer, NARS Pure Radient Tinted Moisturizer.

Slide1The No Makeup Look should take you maybe 10 minutes at most, you should be able to complete it in about 5 minutes. Which is perfect for those busy Moms with limited time!

6 easy steps to an easy “No Makeup Look” application.

Step 1: Cleanse Face

Step 2 : Apply Moisturizer

Step 3: Apply Foundation or Tinted Moisturizer

You can mix Benefit‘s Sunbeam in with your foundation/tinted moisturizer to get a bronzed effect (if you are pale with freckles you can still use this product and any bronzer’s, bronzer’s can be used on any skin tone as long as it’s applied properly). If you do not want the bronzed effect but want the dewy finish, mix in Benefits High Beam with your foundation/tinted moisturizer to add a slight shimmer.

Only add concealer if absolutely necessary.

Step 4: Apply Cream Blush

This look will work better if you have a cream blush, if you do not have a cream blush you can use a powder blush.

Suggested Cream Blush: NARS Cream Blush, Makeup Forever HD Blush (most variety of colours), Illamasqua Cream Blush, Bobbi Brown Cream Blush, Korres Cream Blush

Step 5: Apply Liner and Mascara

Depending on what you are used to wearing, apply liner on your waterline or use the tight liner affect as seen here. Apply mascara as you normally would.

Suggested Products: My favorite mascara’s are Cover Girls Lash Blast Mascara, Bobbi Brown Extreme Lengthening Mascara

Liner: Annabelle Pencil Liner

Step 6: Apply Lip Balm

You can use anything you are used to wearing on your lips, whether it be lip chap, lip gloss or even Vaseline. My favorites are: Smith’s Rosebud, Korres Lip Butter, Buxom Lip Gloss, Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm

You will look flawless and polished with minimal effort and everyone will think you are naturally gorgeous even with sleepless nights.

If you want you can add extra steps in such as filling in your eyebrows, adding liner or shadow to your lid etc.

Here are some pictures of my beautiful sister after she followed these 6 easy steps without my assistance (my sister has a very pale skin tone as well as freckles, she also works early 5am mornings with minimal sleep):

Let me know if there is anything you are curious about and I’ll be happy to make a post about it!
