Home-made Lemon & Coconut Scrub

My loves,

Everyone loves a good hand scrub, but do you know what everyone loves even more? A home-made hand scrub, one that you can make at home for a lot less money! My wonderful Aunt and Godmother made a sensational Lemon & Coconut hand scrub that she made all by herself! She made it as a party favor after hosting a wonderful wedding shower for my cousin!

It is absolutely fantastic!

IMG_8996What You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 cup of Coconut Oil
  • 1 cup of Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon zest

IMG_9082It’s literally the easiest scrub to make. You mix all the ingredients together and you have a lovely sugar scrub. Its awesome! And think about how much money you will save by using this lovely scrub? Plus it’s fun to make, especially with a girlfriend or two. Or if you have a daughter, that would be a great thing to do together!

IMG_9090You would think that a homemade scrub would leave your skin feeling oily and greasy, but it doesn’t at all! The smell of lemon and coconut is so refreshing, it’s great to store in the shower or beside your kitchen sink for after doing the dishes! Not to mention Coconut Oil is a miracle beauty product!

What do you think of this homemade sugar scrub? Are you going to try it?

Thanks Laurelle – I really like this post! It is fun to make and I love the way it leaves my skin feeling. And like I said when I was handing it out, if you’re hungry in the shower you can snack on it too!! Love Aunt Mary Ellen

  2. Great way to use up white sugar. I’d much rather rub it on my skin that put it into my body :). I also love the coconut oil as a lotion. I pay a fair chunk of dough for a sugar scrub. I will definitely try making this myself – thanks!
