I’m so excited to finally say that Illamasqua is in Canada! It’s at a few Sephora locations and at the Bay in The Eaton Centre in Toronto! So freaking exciting! I decided to attend the opening of Illamasqua at the Bay a few weeks ago. I chose to do my makeup up a bit for fun! I used the Illamasqua Liquid Metal Palette to create my makeup look for the night.
“A palette consisting of Liquid Metals in Enrapture, Surge, Electrum and Phenomena. Liquid Metal is a rich and highly pigmented metallic cream that grabs full attention wherever it’s applied. Smooth onto eyes, face and body with fingers or a brush and prepare to take the spotlight.”
So I really love the colours of this palette and they go on the skin as vibrant as they look in the palette itself. Now I did use an eye primer before I applied the shadow to my eyelid, however the shadow did still crease. I am going to attempt to use this palette again and try a few different techniques in order to stop it from creasing.
So even though the shadow did crease within a couple of hours of applying it I have faith that I can find a way to stop it from creasing! I spoke to the girl at the Illamasqua counter and she said you can either apply it on the eyelid avoiding the crease or apply a dry eyeshadow primer. I used Urban Decay’s primer (which is freaking amazing, but is a little creamy). She also suggested a concealer before hand. I am going to attempt this next time and I’ll see how it goes!
For my lips I chose to wear “Diva” by MAC, one of my all time favorite reds especially for the fall and winter months! Isn’t it fab? I just love this red. Now it is a matte lipstick so it can feel drying. I recommend that you use a pencil liner with it as well to keep it from bleeding. The lip liner I used was also from MAC, “Burgundy”. Now remember when applying red lipstick to get the best application I suggest using concealer all over the lips and then setting it with translucent powder before you apply the lip liner or lipstick!
It is such a lovely dark red! Perfect if you want to be a Vampire for Halloween (wink wink)! Now red lips are always a little tricky and high maintenance, just remember the darker you go the more high maintenance it becomes! But please go rock this dark red this season!
So overall I enjoyed creating this look. I do love the eyeshadow palette and the colours are extraordinary! I just need to find a way to stop it from creasing! Don’t write it off quite yet though, I know I haven’t! I’m determined to make this palette a favorite!
