MAC| Stroke of Midnight Lip Bag: Violet

My loves,

With all the gift sets and holiday deals, I couldn’t help but treat myself to one of MAC’s lovely Stroke of Midnight Lip Bags. They just looked so enticing! As a Beauty Blogger I also really love gift sets because I can try more than one product for a great price!

IMG_9775“Includes sumptuous shades of Cremesheen Glass in Art of Seduction, Lipstick in Dark Deed and Lip Pencil in Vino. Limited-edition black Stroke of Midnight bag features a chic graphic white pattern, elegantly edged with gold piping.”

This is such a great deal, if you haven’t already asked for it for Christmas get on that! For $39.95 you receive a full-sized lipstick and Cremesheen Glass, as well as a miniature sized lip pencil. It comes in a cute limited edition zippered bag.

ART OF SEDUCTION

IMG_9778 IMG_9780Art of Seduction lip glass is described as a “cool nude with gold frost.” It’s a light beige with gold shimmer. I actually really loved this lip gloss and would wear it on it’s own. I’m going to lie I don’t generally like MAC lip gloss or glass at all. I tend to find them very sticky and difficult to wear. This one is quite nice, not sticky and looks great. Unfortunately it doesn’t last more than a few hours but it fades naturally. Overall, I really love this cremeshene lip glass and will probably purchase another one!

VINO

IMG_9777 IMG_9851Vino lip liner is described as an “intense violet purple”. It is a dark burgundy with red undertones.  Now this particular lip liner is a little disappointing because it tends to flake when applying. It’s very drying and doesn’t apply evenly. I found some spots were darker than others and it hard to even out the coverage. It wears really well lasting about 7-8 hours, but it’s not comfortable to wear as it’s very drying.

IMG_0003 IMG_0008DARK DEED

IMG_9783 IMG_9785Dark Deed Lipstick is described as a “darkened blood red [with an amplified finish]”. Dark Deed is one of those lovely reds that actually swatches and looks like the lipstick itself. It’s a deep red with berry and brown tones. There is something super seductive about this lipstick. The coverage is some-what opaque, however you can get settling in the lip lines. It wears really well, without having to touch up consistently. I also didn’t find that it was drying at all which is always a plus with lipstick. It’s a perfect fall/winter colour.

IMG_0020 IMG_0016After trying each product out separately I decided to combine all 3 together. When you combine all 3 products together it’s actually quite a beautiful combination. When you add the gloss on top of the lipstick it gives it that little something extra and takes away any drying you might have on your lips.

IMG_0041IMG_0037I like the way the gold shimmer looks on top of the burgundy red. It softens the colour a little and makes it a little more seductive. I will definitely be using this combo a lot during the months.

What are your thoughts on this beautiful Stroke of Midnight Collection in ‘Violet’?
