Academy Award Inspired Makeup| Maria Menounos

My loves,

The one person on the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards that really blew me away was Maria Menounos, which is why I was really eager to duplicate her look. Everything about her look for the evening was amazing in my opinion—I mean even her manicure was fantastic. Her makeup, however really had the wow factor, she looked absolutely stunning.

maria-menounos-1-435 maria-menounos-2-435She appears to have a worn a really subtle smoky eye with a nude lip. It looks great with her overall outfit because she wore such a sparkly elegant dress that wasn’t overly colourful or dramatic. Which is why she was able to pull off a more dramatic eye. I also usually much prefer to play up the eye rather than the lips. It’s a safe move when attending something as nerve-racking as the Oscars. A dark red lip can be intimidating because you don’t want it to fade or rub off in any way. Where as when you go with a nude lip you don’t really have to worry about it. It’s much easier to touch up.

Maria Menounos makeup was absolute perfection. I cannot get over how freaking fabulous she looked. I love this makeup look and I will most definitely be rocking the smokey eye and nude lip for evenings out or when I want to get super done up. I think next time I attempt this look I’ll make my eyes a tad more smokey and dark.
