LUSH| The Kiss Lip Gloss

My loves,

Now this post is way over do and slightly cruel because it is a limited edition product from Valentine’s Day. Now before you start cursing me I was in LUSH just yesterday and they still had quite a few of these lovely lip glosses. So if I were you I would run out and grab it while you can! These lovely vegan lip gloss promises to moisturize and soften the lips while always providing some shine and colour.

Now to make sure no one gets confused this is a lip GLOSS not a lip BALM, which many people seem to be mistaking it for. The Kiss is one of LUSH’s first lip glosses. It has a different whipped texture than their balms and is actually quite lovely. The texture is super smooth and soft when you apply it to your lips.

IMG_2116The Kiss is a light-weight, lightly tinted with a very subtle shimmer. When I did the swatch I was a little skeptical about how it would appear on the lips. I’m not a huge fan of shimmer and lip gloss in a pot is always a concern. But I absolutely love the way this lip gloss looks on. It’s very natural and non-greasy. It actually kind of feels like a lip balm with a little more colour and shine to it. It also has a light fruity scent and tastes like love heart sweets.

The packaging is very cute and it’s very easy to store in your purse. It’s not as moisturizing as a lip balm would be but it doesn’t dry out your lips like some glosses might. It also has the texture of a lip balm so it’s not sticky or tacky, it actually absorbs into your lips.

As you can see the swatch on my hand and on my lips are very different. In this case I’m very happy that the swatch on my hand doesn’t match my lips. The colour is very subtle and the shimmer makes the lips look moisturized and healthy. Over all I think this is a great product. I know most people do not like products that require you to use your fingers but it does not bother me.

What are your thoughts on LUSH’s first lip gloss?

Laurelle, xo
