My mom knows how much I love makeup and how much I adore trying new products, especially lipstick! One of my favorite makeup lines for lipstick is MAC. I love the shades, I love the way it feels and I even love the smell (the scent of cookies!) So when my mom came across a new shade of lipstick she knew I would want to try it. She was lovely enough to buy it for me and it’s definitely a colour for me. It’s in the nude category and if you haven’t already noticed I love my nude, natural looking lip.
“Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.”
Fleur D’Coral is described as a “pale creamy peach”. Which is a great colour for me because I love pink with peach undertones, the perfect combination! As soon as I swatched this lipstick I knew I would love it. When applied to the lips it appears as a pale pink with a tinge of peach. It is a lustre so it does have a shine to it. It’s a little opaque and can show the lines of your lips so I wouldn’t recommend wearing this colour when your lips are dry or dehydrated. It doesn’t apply as easily as I would like but it pairs well with a neutral or clear gloss. Wearing it on its own it lasted me about 2 hours, which for a nude lipstick I don’t mind having to re-apply ever so often.
I absolutely love the colour even though it doesn’t apply as evenly as I would like, I think it still looks good. It’s an also a perfect all year round colour. You can get away with wearing a nude like this in the Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Who doesn’t want a lipstick that can be worn every season? I think it also works well with an olive skin tone like myself. Gives you a little extra pop of colour while still staying neutral. Would look great with a nice tan!
Overall, I think it’s a very pretty colour. It’s neither drying or hydrating which is what I expect from most lipsticks. I love the shade and can definitely see myself wearing this colour quite often. It is from MAC’s A Fantasy of Flowers Spring Collection 2014. I do believe it is limited edition, so grab it while you can!
Have you tried MAC’s Fleur D’Coral Lipstick? What do you think of this shade?
