I’m not sure if any of you have heard of FAT (Fashion Art Toronto), but I had not! My girlfriend who also has a blog about Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle Birdface Collection, invited me to a fashion show on Tuesday evening. Here is a little about FAT.
“|FAT| Arts & Fashion Week celebrates inventive, pioneering and contemporary expression through 50+ runway shows, live performances, fashion films, photography exhibits and art installations. This annual multi-arts event, held every April, features 200 Canadian and International fashion designers and artists each year and welcomes over 5,000 guests; including buyers, curators, the media, and fashion and art lovers in general.”
From contemporary fashion to street wear, to experimental ideas and avant-garde collections, |FAT| Arts & Fashion Week features over 50 runway shows from the best emerging and established, national and international designers. |FAT|’s runway showcase sets the standard for a new era of cutting edge presentations on the catwalk.
Tuesday nights show was Earth/Industry themed. After seeing this runway and performance I honestly wish I had bought a week pass to see every show. The fashion and talent was incredible. I mean the creativity that goes into these designs is unreal. And it’s not even just the fashion itself but how they present it on the runway. Each designed has a specific vision and you can see it through their work and runway experience.
WALLACE PLAYFORD (Toronto)
SIMONE’S ROSE (Toronto) -definitely my favorite of the night
SERAGHADAKI (Toronto) – such an amazing runway show
STARKERS CORSETRY (Toronto)
JEPRI STUDIO (Toronto)
And not only was there runway fashion there was also a dance performance. Which I absolutely loved because I love all things dance (even though I am a horrible dancer)! The performance was put on by LR PRODUCTIONS – From The Earth.
Overall, it was an amazing experience. I will most definitely be buying the week pass or more than one show next year! And I’m sure next year will be amazing because they will be celebrating their 10th Anniversary. I believe you can still buy tickets at the door. If you interested in attending tonights show Cult/Culture or Saturday evenings show Minimal/Extreme you can purchase tickets at the door for $45.00.
