Revlon| Colorburst Matte Balm-205 Elusive

My loves,

Now I mentioned in a previous post that I’m trying to break out of my makeup snobbery. Well, I came across Revlon’s Colorburst Matte Balm’s which I have become quite fond of. There is a wide variety of shades to choose from, I of course settled for a dusty rose. It’s a perfect every day lip colour and it’s always moisturizing which is just an added bonus.

A Matte finish that’s beyond plush. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 10 collectible, craveable colours.”

For a polished and perfect lip look, apply foundation on and around the lips before lip color. Foundation helps to prep the lip area for a more flawless application and helps lip color last longer.

Colorburst Matte Balm – $8.99

IMG_4385IMG_4390Revlon’s Colorburst Matte balm is supposed to give you a nice ‘velvety matte finish’, while still providing moisture and keeping your lips hydrated. This lip balm has amazing pigment and does not make your lips feel dehydrated in the slightest. I like to combine this lip balm with a gloss over top just to soften the shade a little. I’ve been putting NYX butter gloss in ‘Eclair’ over top. The packaging is great because it’s a jumbo sized twist-up which requires no sharpening and no waste! It wears extremely well, fades naturally with very few touch ups throughout the day. The balm has a slight mint scent to it and though it claims to replicate a lip balm I wouldn’t compare it so much as a balm but a lip colour with some hydration.

I chose the shade ‘Elusive’ because I’m such a sucker for those dusty rose, medium, warm-toned pinks with the yellow undertones. I just can’t help myself I’m always drawn towards them. It’s actually ridiculous how many warm-toned pinks I own. The consistency is slightly creamy with a full colour coverage and very long-lasting. I might have to pick up a few more shades.

Have you tried Revlon’s Colorburst Matte Balm? What shade did you choose?
