A Guide to Natural Deodorants

My loves, To say it’s been a long time would be an understatement. I’ll give you a brief breakdown of what I’ve been up to, so please forgive my long over due absence. I recently got back from living in Australia for a year and lets just say it’s been a bit of an adjustment. It was extremely hard for me to blog while I was away because I was trying to save money and buying beauty products was my first way to cut costs. I also was living with a tiny Ipad mini, which is just plain annoying to try to blog with. So there you have it. I’m back. But don’t get too excited, I am going to try my very best to post more often, I can’t say that it will be very consistent, yet… So what prompted me to get back to it; a company that specifies in reviews contacted me regarding natural deodorant. Now I don’t know about you but I am constantly trying to find a natural deodorant that …

Mani Monday| Splatter Me With Splatter Paint

My loves, I absolutely love the way splatter paint nails look. Oddly enough I had two clients come in this week wanting splatter paint nails. Which is all the more fun for me! So today my loves I have two lovely splatter paint manicures for you! One was for the music festival going on in Toronto this weekend ‘Veld Music Festival’. The other was just for fun. We used fun summery colours for both manicures and even added a little glitter. Hope you like them! Just A Splash of Fun: Veld Music Festival Nails ‘Splatter and Glitter’: I have to say I love them both equally! They are both unique in their own ways. I like the glitter added to the one it definitely makes it more fun when attending such a fun music festival. I might have to put splatter paint on my own nails! As easy as you might think it is to accomplish splatter paint nail art, it sadly is not. I had to improvise on a lot of the design. I …

Technical Difficulties

It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas…

My loves, As the Holidays approach more and more ideas about nails are coming out for the holidays. Now these particular nails weren’t meant to be for the holidays but the colours would definitely work for the season! Aren’t they lovely? My clients first choice of colour was red and as we got chatting we started discussing design and nail art. She didn’t want to go too crazy, just wanted that little something extra. So I suggested silver accents. As you can see I free-handed the stripe with silver on her ring finger. Her pointer finger we did all silver with silver sparkles. I think it looks great. Still classy but not a one tone manicure. To accomplish this look I used Artistic Colour Gloss ‘Fab’ for the red and ‘Misleading’ for the silver. Wouldn’t it be perfect for the holidays? What holiday nails are you going to try? Laurelle, xo

Illamasqua: Liquid Metal Palette

My loves, I’m so excited to finally say that Illamasqua is in Canada! It’s at a few Sephora locations and at the Bay in The Eaton Centre in Toronto! So freaking exciting! I decided to attend the opening of Illamasqua at the Bay a few weeks ago. I chose to do my makeup up a bit for fun! I used the Illamasqua Liquid Metal Palette to create my makeup look for the night. “A palette consisting of Liquid Metals in Enrapture, Surge, Electrum and Phenomena. Liquid Metal is a rich and highly pigmented metallic cream that grabs full attention wherever it’s applied. Smooth onto eyes, face and body with fingers or a brush and prepare to take the spotlight.” So I really love the colours of this palette and they go on the skin as vibrant as they look in the palette itself. Now I did use an eye primer before I applied the shadow to my eyelid, however the shadow did still crease. I am going to attempt to use this palette again and …
