Love’s A Game, Want To Play?

My loves,

What would I ever do without makeup? It’s such a wonderful pick me up. You can be feeling horrible about yourself and you put a little makeup on and you are good to go. It makes you feel better instantly. Now on a day-to-day basis I really don’t wear that much makeup, but for special occasions or an evening out I like to up my game a little.

“I think women should wear whatever makeup they want for themselves. Makeup should be fun.”     –Emma Stone

You heard the woman; makeup should be fun and whatever you want it to be. People get caught up on trends and what trends they should be following. But not all trends work for everyone, so use the makeup that makes you feel beautiful and comfortable. Because after all you have to feel good about yourself to have confidence. Own it.

IMG_5961 IMG_5956IMG_5981This is one of my favorite makeup looks to wear. It enhances my features just enough that it’s a little more bold but still has a natural feel to it. I love natural looking makeup, it’s my absolute favorite and it’s how I feel most comfortable and confident. I always stick with matte eye shadows because no matter how much I try to love shimmer I cannot stand any glitter or shimmer in my eye shadow. I like a plain and simple with a little kick to it.

Mani Monday| The Earth Laughs in Flowers

My loves,

The sun is shining, the birds are the singing and dare I say I saw a butterfly? That can only mean one thing my dear friends, Spring is finally here! And I can only hope that it is here to stay! I love Spring!! It means winter is finally over and the heavy coats can be put away. And what better way to celebrate spring than with flowers? My absolute favorite; floral nails.

IMG_2090IMG_2092IMG_2095IMG_2097I don’t need to tell any of you how much I love floral on pretty much anything. I’m basically an 80-year-old woman at heart. Anything floral and I own it and love it! And I especially love floral nail art. And it’s perfect for Spring! I don’t know if any of you have noticed but there is floral everywhere in the stores! Bring it on Spring, I’m ready!

Happy Monday!

MAC| ‘Twig’ Lipstick

My loves,

So as I think many people do in this world, I have a slight addiction to Pinterest and by ‘slight’ I mean a full-blown addiction. I literally go on it whenever I have a free moment. Now you might say I am wasting my time by doing so. However, I disagree, because I find most of my nail art inspiration from Pinterest and I also find wonderful makeup products that I know I must try. Through my Pinterest exploring I came across a picture of lips with a sensational colour claiming to be MAC’s lipstick in ‘Twig’. Now I saved it in my phone so I would not forget the colour and it took me ages to finally get my hands on it, and my only excuse; laziness. But my wonderful beauty guru’s I finally have it to share with you! And it’s a true gem.

IMG_5721“Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.”

MAC Twig  $19.00

From the moment I laid eyes on this colour I knew it was a must have. It’s one of those wonderful shades of pink that goes with everything. It’s the perfect every day lipstick colour and it even works well for a night out on the town because you don’t have to worry about fading and touch ups. Twig is described as a soft-muted brownish pink, which I think is pretty on point. It’s a gorgeous colour, that brings out the natural colour of your lips. It’s creamy formula makes it extremely comfortable to wear (does not leave the lips feeling dry), has a beautiful satin finish and it smells great! No need for a lip liner, but it does look great with that little extra kick!

IMG_5792I highly recommend this lip colour for anyone obsessed with lip products. It’s a must have for any gal obsessed with neutral toned pinks. And oh those beautiful dusty rose tones, I do love them.

What are you wearing on your lips for Spring?

Mani Monday| Hello Spring

My loves,

Spring has sprung and you know what that means? It means bright, vibrant and pastel colours for our nails! I love these range of colours, I cannot wait to be wearing hot pink, baby blue, mint green! Oh so many to choose from, where do we start!? Well, to kick off Spring my client and I decided to go with a nice coral pink and some abstract designs on a couple of nails, and of course some gold accents.

IMG_3720 IMG_3723 IMG_3729 IMG_3725They kind of look like decorated Easter eggs, which only seems appropriate since it’s Easter Monday! I absolutely love coral and this abstract design definitely turned out well.

Happy Monday!

It’s Better To Burn Out Than To Fade Away

My loves,

Fashion Week has come to end. And although I enjoyed every minute of it, it definitely drained me of all energy. Literally. I actually slept for 12 hours on Saturday night, 12 freaking hours guys! I barely usually get 8, it was a miracle. And guess what I was still freaking tired. Which is why I failed to post Mani Monday yesterday, my sincere apologies. I’m going to get my blog game, back on track! Starting with all my fun outfits I wore to Fashion Week. (NOTHING is more stressful than figuring out what you are wearing to Fashion Week). You have to dress to impress.

Outfit Number 1: Camo Pants and Leather Jackets

IMG_3250Outfit Number 2: Striped Dresses And Little Brown Boots

Screen Shot 2015-03-30 at 9.43.48 PMOutfit Number 3: Aztec Patterns and Buns

IMG_3418Outfit Number 4: I Love To See Your Money Hanging In My Closet

IMG_3539Outfit Number 5: Cocktail Parties and High Heels

IMG_3590Well my loves what do you think? Do you think I successfully pulled off Fashion Week? Which outfit was your favorite? I have to say I think Outfit Number 3 was my personal favorite. I definitely need to wear my hair like that more often! Now, time for more sleep!

Happy Tuesday!

I Don’t Need No Money, Fortune, or Fame

My loves,

It’s  the middle of Toronto Fashion Week and I’m having so much fun. I cannot wait to share all the amazing collections I’ve seen thus far. SO far the runway shows I have seen include: Helder Diego, VAWK, Malorie Urbanovitch and Klaxon Howl. All amazing. I’m very much enjoying the makeup on the runway this year, I cannot wait to play around with these looks.

camoAs a Tom Boy at heart I absolutely love this look. I couldn’t wait to wear this outfit to Fashion Week, it’s comfortable, edgy and yet still very feminine. These boots are unbelievable comfortable but still very trendy. They are definitely a staple item that every girl should have! And camo pants, I mean, can you really go wrong?

IMG_5934With this look I wanted my makeup to enhance my features in a natural way.  There is nothing more beautiful than natural makeup when it’s accentuating your best features. I wanted my eyes to be the main focus with a subtle neutral toned shadow combination and finish it off with a soft matte dusty rose lip. I created this look using Urban Decay’s Basics Palette and MAC’s Lipstick ‘Twig’ (seriously best lip colour ever, I’m obsessed!).

Happy Thursday!

Mani Monday| The World Is My Runway

My loves,

It is finally Fashion Week here in Toronto and I cannot even tell you how excited I am. I am attending a bunch of amazing shows this coming week and I cannot wait to see the latest trends, designs and patterns. Bring it on Fashion Week I’m ready (besides having to pick out all of my outfits for every day this week, eek!)! However, my nails are 100% ready, oh my beauty guru’s I brought my A game this time around. This manicure literally took me about 3 hours to do on myself, but it was most definitely worth it.

photo 1photo 2photo 3

photophoto 5 Now, this was definitely a challenge, when I had the idea to paint a small tiny fashion runway model on my nail it seemed like a good idea… until I was 45 min in on the one freaking nail. Ahh, well I guess you could say it was worth. I mean it is Fashion Week after all, when else am I going to be able to show off these fancy nails?

Happy Monday!

Make Up For Ever| Mist & Fix

My loves,

In a makeup artists professional bag there are a few essentials that every makeup artist should have. One being a setting spray, to ensure that your clients makeup lasts all evening long. Especially for those important wedding days! No bride wants a fading face throughout the evening of their perfect day. It’s also important for the makeup artists face to last all day to show you obviously know what you are doing. Which is why a setting spray is a magical creation making every makeup artists life a little easier.

Make Up For Ever recently re-introduced their Mist & Fix setting spray! Which I couldn’t be more excited about considering it’s one of the most important makeup products. They were kind enough to send a bottle my way, and ladies I freaking love it.

IMG_5859“Mist & Fix is a setting spray that sets your makeup and create a long-lasting hold. On top of that, the formula contains an O2 Skin Complex which provides oxygenation to the skin while making it more radiant (without shine). Suited for every skin tone, Mist & Fix also provides an invisible shield against environmental stress factors such as pollution and extreme temperature changes.”

Mist & Fix 125ml, $34.00         Mist & Fix 30ml, $14.00

Available exclusively at Sephora, Sephora.ca and MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutiques

Now you do not need to be a makeup artist to own this must-have beauty product. This setting spray is going to change your life. It is designed to set your makeup and create a long-lasting hold. Since re-launching this cult favorite, there are key moisturizing benefits, which is perfect for skin recovering from the unbearably  cold winter we have experienced this year.

“Mist & Fix boasts a formula containing an O2 Skin Complex, which provides oxygenation to the skin while making it more radiant, without the shiny finish. The new and improved setting spray also moisturizes the skin with polyol, a molecule known for its moisturizing properties. Mist & Fix is an alcohol-free and dermatologist-tested spray, suited for every skin type, even the most sensitive skins. This setting spray is a colorless liquid, similar to water, which provides an invisible shield against environmental stress factors such as pollution and extreme temperature changes.”

Pro Application tip: After your makeup application, hold Mist & Fix 15 inches (40 cm) away from the face and mist continuously for a few seconds. Let dry or blot with a thick tissue to speed up the drying process.

I know I will not be leaving my house without spritzing my face with this Mist & Fix and it definitely will always be in my professional makeup bag. This product will literally change your life. You’ll never have to worry about a fading face, melting face or a dehydrated face for that matter. That’s 3 major pluses.

Have you tried Make Up For Ever’s Mist & Fix?

MAC| Isabel and Ruben Toledo Lipstick

My loves,

I don’t know if you’ve gone to MAC Cosmetics lately, but they have some splendid make up collections in-house at the moment. My mom was really intrigued by the Isabel and Ruben Toledo Collection, so when at the mall we decided to stop by and take a look. As most of MAC’s hot collections seem to go, most of the good stuff was already sold out. I’m not sure about other locations, but supplies were limited. However, I did manage to get my hands on a beautiful bright red lipstick in ‘Opera’.

Isabel and Ruben Toledo lend their vibrant eye for fashion and art to a collection of irreverent colour designed to inspire endless play.

IMG_5719” Formulated to shade, define and showcase the lips in a rouge-y matte range of reds. The iconic product that made M∙A∙C famous. Specifically designed white packaging features Ruben’s illustrations of graphic lines and faces in his one-of-a-kind aesthetic.”

$23.00

Now, I am always a sucker for beautiful packaging, and this line has outstanding packaging. I wanted a lipstick just because the packaging was so beautiful. Not to mention I have a strong passion for the arts so when it’s represented on my lipstick it’s just freaking awesome.

The red I decided to purchase is the perfect red lip. It’s vibrant, bold and long-lasting. I’m freaking in love with it. It really brightens your face and makes you stand out in a crowd. You’ll definitely drop some jaws wearing this beauty. If you are a fan of Ruby Woo, you will most definitely love this colour.

IMG_5828If you love a nice bold red lip then this is the colour for you my loves. But hurry up and hit up a MAC store, because these beauties are selling out fast and you are going to want to get your hands on one or two!

Happy Wednesday My Beauts!

Mani Monday| What Happens in Vegas…

My loves,

Epic failure on my part last week. Things have been a little hectic lately and I just couldn’t seem to find the time or brain power to sit down and write a post. Well, I have a wonderful manicure to share with you today. It’s simple and sweet, but of course glamorous because these paws are heading to Vegas. And you don’t show up to Vegas without some form of glitter.

IMG_2988 IMG_2989 IMG_2991 IMG_2993Barbie pink with a reversed french glitter…if that doesn’t scream Vegas, I don’t know what does. As I was doing this manicure all I could think about was how much I freaking loved it and wanted it on my own hands. Not to mention Vegas sounds pretty good to me right now.

If you were going to Vegas what would your nails look like?
