Mani Monday| Blue Tones and Half Moons

My loves, So I realize I have been a major slacker with my blog. So I do apologize, I swear I’m trying to keep up. Today is as you know, Mani Monday! Which is one of my most favorite days. Today my loves I have a beautiful blue toned, half-moon manicure that I did for one of my all time favorite clients. I love these two blues together, they look A-mazing together. The bright royal blue is one of my all time favorite colours, I mean look at it, it’s awesome. My client had seen my black and pink half-moon manicure and she decided she had to have it. We of course chose to mix up the colours a bit. That’s what’s great about half-moon manicures, there are endless different ways of creating this fabulous manicure. Are you feeling blue this winter? Mani Monday| I Moustache You A Question

My loves, What kind of nail artist would I be if I didn’t showcase some Movember themed nail art? Every November I say I’m going to put some moustache’s on my nails or something that fits the theme, and I seem to always forget! But not this year my friends, this year I made sure I was sporting some Movember themed nail art. And they are freaking awesome. One of my crazy talented co-workers, who is an expert at lines and geometric nail art helped me create this superb manicure. I love having nail art on my own nails, but it is just to time consuming to actually do on myself. Which is why it always comes in handy to work with wonderfully talented nail technicians. I can’t get over how much I love these freaking nails. I mean can you not agree that they are awesome?! They definitely took a good chunk of time but I think my co-worker did an amazing job and I love them. Are any of you sporting Movember themed …

Mani Monday| Build Me A Dreamcatcher

My loves, I’m going to warn you right now I am away in Italy at the moment so my posts may be very limited! However, I could not wait to show you this manicure. Do you ever have those moments where you even impress yourself? And you are so proud of what you accomplished? That’s how I feel about this manicure. The concentration I had and the level of skill I had even impresses me! This design reminds me of a dreamcatcher. It took me a good amount of time to create this manicure. Each line and dot had to be perfect. I just love the way it turned out though. I told my client after I finished that I thought this was my best manicure ever. I absolutely love the colours we chose as well, the white, pink and black really work well together. What do you think my loves? Are you into the fine details? Laurelle, xo

Mani Monday| Can I Teal You a Secret?

My loves,  It’s Mani Monday! I’m excited because I was so busy and exhausted last week, that Mani Monday sadly did not get posted! Shame on me. But do you know what that means? It means I have lots of fun nails to show. These particular nails I’m showing you today, I LOVE. One of the girls I work with was using fun colours the other day and I got inspired by her to use these colours! I think they look great together. And I love the design of this manicure. I might have to use it more often. Aren’t the two teal colours so freaking lovely together? I love the dark sparkly teal at the base I really think it makes the nails pop. I’m just obsessed with these colours together and how they are placed. I love the little line at the base of the nail. It looks so edgy and fun. But still simple enough that its not in your face, it’s fashionable. I just love it. To achieve this manicure I …

Mani Monday| Cut Me Out Some Triangles

My loves,  It’s another Mani Monday and this manicure is (I think) one of my personal bests. One of my favorite clients came to visit me this week and she always challenges me with her nail art ideas (which I love!), and I’m not going to lie when she showed me a picture of what she wanted I was a little nervous. Lines and colour blocking makes me nervous because I want it to look absolutely perfect and that can be a challenge. We chose two colours that compliment each other and both have a sheen/shimmer to them. I particularly love both colours especially when combined together. I used the pink as a base for all the nails and then painted the outline of a triangle, filling in the negative space after. It was actually a much easier manicure to create than I would have thought. Now don’t get me wrong it was time-consuming but I wouldn’t call it difficult. I know when my mom sees this design she is going to love it! She …

Mani Monday| Pretty Pink in Bows

My loves, Mani Mani Monday. I did some pretty fun manicure’s this week, so it was difficult for me to choose which one to use for my Mani Monday. I settled on this pretty pink manicure with stripes and bows. I must say this particular manicure was a challenge for me. Every line and detail had to be absolutely perfect, so it took some serious concentration. However, it was definitely worth it because I love the way it turned out. When doing stripes and any kind of line it takes much longer. The precision of the lines has to be perfection otherwise it looks sloppy. When I was presented with this nail art idea I was immediately intrigued. Even though I knew it would be challenging I couldn’t wait to give it a try. It looks adorable with the combination of the stripes and the bows. We picked a soft pink to make the manicure super feminine. To achieve this manicure I used Entity Colour Couture ‘Little Black Bottle’, ‘Sweet Chic’ and Artistic Nail Design …

Mani Monday| Candy Stripes Are Something Nice

My loves, You know how much I love Mani Mondays! I did a lovely striped manicure for one of my all time favorite clients this past weekend. We decided to combine some cherry pink and baby blue. I love how it turned out. As I was painting the manicure it started to remind me of Candy Stripes! And aren’t Candy Stripes oh so nice? I absolutely love the colour combo of cherry pink and baby blue. Stripes are one of my favorite looks for nail art, but it’s also one of the most time consuming. It can be difficult to make the stripes perfectly straight. You want them to look perfect. To achieve this manicure I used Entity Color Couture ‘Cherry Blossoms’ and Artistic Nail Design ‘Graceful’ (which is one of my personal favorite colours!). What do you think of Candy Stripes? Laurelle, xo

Mani Monday| Oh So Sleek!

My loves, Ohhh yes Mani Monday! This manicure in my opinion is a personal best. I did this lovely manicure on my mom which seems fitting since Mother’s Day was just yesterday! I hope everyone had a lovely day and spoiled their Mother’s! God knows they deserve it! My mom loves black and white, which is why she tends to pick designs that are specifically black and white, and if they are not black and white we certainly change it! I wasn’t sure about this manicure when I was first presented the idea, but I just love how it turned out. There is something so sophisticated about black and white nails. I just love it. If you knew my mom you would understand how much this manicure really suits her. It was almost like this manicure and colour combo was designed for her. It reminds me of some sort of artistic piece as well. Almost like having art on your nails, which I guess is really what you are doing with every unique manicure. I …

Mani Monday| RIO Ready

My loves, Ahhhh yes Mani Monday, one of my favorite days. I’ve got an exciting manicure for you today my loves! Spring has Sprung and the bright colours begin! Let the colourful manicures take over. It was time for my Mom to get her nails redone and she had a theme in mind. She is attending a Charity in Chatham this weekend and the theme is RIO. So obviously her nails had to be extravagant and RIO ready. We knew we needed bright, a fun design and of course sparkle (even thought I tend to protest when sparkle is involved). This is what we came up with! Hot, Hot Pink, I’d say they are RIO ready for sure. I love this colour so much! I love a beautiful hot pink manicure and I love it even more when there is some nail art incorporated into the manicure. We decided to do a black swirl design to make it look fun. It’s hard to see in the pictures but there is a light sparkle on the …

Linear Lines and Lots of Gold

My loves, I love when a client walks into the salon and tells me I have the free range to do whatever I like with their nails! I get them to choose a colour of their choice and I get to play around with nail art and designs. Oh what fun it is to be a nail technician. I decided to create a manicure with lines, glitter and oh some good old fashion pink. This particular manicure turned out to be one of my favorites. I used two different shades of pink and decided to do one solid nail of each colour and then create designs with linear lines. There is something very chic about lines, I’m not sure why exactly but I know I like it. I wanted to glam it up with some gold and shimmer so I added gold loose sparkles to one of the nails.  I free-handed the lines, which can be one of the most challenging of all the nail art out there. To create this manicure I used Entity …
